Safeguard your vessel
with our winter lay-up service
For when the sailing season draws to an end...If you have chosen to hire one of our swinging moorings we will collect your boat, tow to one of our launching/recovery trailers, and bring ashore. If you spend your summer sailing season elsewhere you can either arrange to bring your boat to one of our moorings or, if she is kept locally, we can collect your boat for you. We have a range of trailers, meaning we can collect up to six boats a day.
Complete winter lay-up service:
We strive to work around our customers' needs and timetable, meaning that we always do our very best to launch and recover your boat on the dates you give us. We offer a complete laying up package; we collect your boat from one of our moorings, lift ashore, pressure wash below the waterline (and on deck if instructed), lay up and full winter storage ashore. We understand the needs of our customers and their boats so we do not have a strict timetable to be back afloat. Our winter storage package dates are flexible, meaning if you need longer to finish fitting out you will not be charged extra for remaining ashore (our terms of business apply). Our prices cover everything including pressure washing and use of cradles or storing your own all year round. The only extra charge is if you need your mast lowered and stepped. Our winter storage charges also cover dinghy storage and car parking. You have access to your boat at all times, 365 days a year 24 hours a day. Each boat laid up in our yard is near an electric and water supply. We have CCTV cameras and security sensor lights for your safety and comfort. We have toilet and shower facilities, which are accessible at all times, day and night. We also have a rubbish disposal service for our customers.
We offer mid season scrubs and lift out services for unplanned maintenance. Our expert team is on hand to resolve boat related issues you may be experiencing.
Our friendly and reliable team is always happy to help and stop for a chat. Our yard is set in the beautiful village of Pin Mill, which is part of Chelmondiston, where you will find well stocked grocery shops, two pubs, hairdressers, post office, take away restaurant, cafe, Pin MIll Studios, and a bus service into Ipswich. Pin Mill is unique and has seen very little change in a very long time. It offers lovely walks for when you need a break from working on your boat, or perhaps a coffee (also available to take away) and a bite to eat in the famous Butt & Oyster historical pub. Most of the boats stored ashore in the yard enjoy a lovely view either of the river, the village, or surrounding countryside.
